CHRISTIAN COUNSELING/ PASTORAL COUNSELLING
The course is designed to help the student to become conversant with principles of
counseling. Serious consideration will be given to biblical counseling, and how to help
people out of their problems. Pastoral counselling is an introductory study of the counselling
role of the pastor in meeting human needs in various spiritual and social situations. Emphasis
is placed on the person and preoccupation of the pastor as a counselor.

PRINCIPLES OF TEACHING
This course examines the art and act of teaching from Biblical, secular, and African
perspectives. It attempts to help students to evolve an approach, strategy, and style of
teaching that is relevant, meaningful, and effective. Emphasis will be given to the strengths
and weaknesses of different teaching methods; and of major audio and visual teaching aids.

HOMILETICS
This course is designed to give the student experience in applying knowledge of exegetical
and hermeneutical principles and practical techniques through the preparation of textual,
topical, and expository sermons. The importance of prayers in sermon preparations, the
practice of public speaking within the contemporary Evangelistic/Charismatic context, the
arty of communication, and other fundamental process of oral expression will be explored.
Also, the course examines the methods of preaching. It is designed to give the student the
skill of preaching as well as specialized areas like weddings, worship service, crisis of grief
and death, well as other life problems.

OLD TESTAMENT THEOLOGY
This course covers the development of major Old Testament doctrines, teachings about kingdoms,
government, cannons and about God, creation, man, sin, the Messiah, revelation and Satan.

PAULINE THEOLOGY
This course deals with the unique career and theology of the historical character, the Apostle of Paul.
Key topics include Paul’s Philosophy, Work, Missionary Journeys and Heart for Evangelism and
Missions and his basic beliefs and theology.
06.
CHURCH ADMINISTRATION
This course is a practical study of typical areas of church administration with a focus on organisation,
management and process development to establish the basis for administration in the church and basic
principles of daily church activities.
07.
CHURCH GOVERNMENT
This course looks at the Biblical study and research of the principles concerning the structure,
organisation and government of the church which focuses on plurality of leadership and the Body of
Christ.
08.
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
This is a thorough study of the nature and the use of the spiritual gifts as they are listed in Romans 12,
1Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4
